1. US spending up 0.2% vs 0.1% consensus
2. Dell shares jumps on strong profit but stock downgraded by Cross Research. Some analyst feel that it might be difficult to execute the cost cutting from now. Well, anyway, congrats to Michael Dell for his anniversary back to the helm.
3. Tiffany also beat (ladies, u buying anything lately.....better check my MasterCard, for they also mention sustainable growth).

News

Stock futures continue to indicate a positive start following a key economic report from the Commerce Department. The report indicated orders of big-ticket, durable goods fell 0.5% during April. The monthly reading was above expectations. Excluding transportation, durable goods orders increased 2.5%, which is better than expected and up from the 1.7% increase registered in the previous month.

The sentiment is that people are tightening their own belts. Luxury brands will be affected? To see.

Well, went out with my Bro Eric for dinner at Waraku tonite. Nice food and nice view !!! (The only complaint was that the green tea ice cream look so big on menu but came out so small).

Anyway, volatile day. Oil just hit $130 - that's why I'm focusing on Energy, Food and Supply Chain themes for this month.

The Fed minutes will also be released tonite. For those who are staying up, happy reading.

Priorities of Prosperity

Make pleasing God your number one priority. Set your eyes on Him above all else and all these things will be added unto you.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matt 6:24)

13/5 Remembrance

Woode said: To predict is for slave. To react is for Kings.

To those seeing my blog, I am spending less time on the screens. Just 坐山观虎斗.

Let's see how expiration Friday goes.

Help me to be discipline, Lord !

After spending $XXX Million, Zune finally hits the tune

Sometimes, relentless pursuit of market share need to burn resources.
For some companies, it might be better to 以逸待劳.
Focus, boy.

13/5 Remembrance

Y'day's RIMM announcement had something very special in it. The co-operation with MSFT.

Then, I remembered a few things Dr C mentioned in Bali:
1. RIMM will be a acquisition target. Tough to be in this market with a "one product range" company.
2. SIRF with it's over 100 patents as a company that has potential.
3. How he will buy CC on AAPL and RIMM.

Though I tried a lot of Dr C's methods and over 80% of them did not work out, however, I believe I learnt much more from the principles behind.

I also remembered him during coaching class about the church's monthly $100k bills. It's no small bill, but building God's house is better than having the yacht parked at the bay. He knows.

God watch over him. Bless him and keep him.

9/5 Brought to remembrance

Lord,

The past 3 days when Pam was not around, Sammi had been asking me to read King Midas to her. Hmm....

Thinking back, I think she is really really smart and it must be a message from you. That's why I know why You had asked me to switched trading strategy. So what if you are the biggest hedge fund operator earning US$19 Bil in one year? In God's eyes, aren't we but dust?

Ultimately, family matters and we need to apply the fear of God in our lives.

Lord, couldn't wait to see the day when I will reach that 1% contribution to One North. It's time people hear the message of grace. It's unmerited and God gives it freely to all who will come to Him.

9/5 Meditation

Psalm 103:11

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.

Lord, as I encounter this verse and the meditation on the prodigal son this morning. I know that Your heart longs for those who fear You. How you hope to see the day when they come back to your arms again. It's a very touching story and I hope that the world will come to know the real You.

selah.

9/5 A Word to my Maker

Lord, for you said the love of money is the root of all evil. Greed is always the one that kills.

Anyway, I thank You for what you taught me these few days. It is very precious. 3 mths test. Afterwards, have to make preparations for next steps.

Sammi was so cute and chatty y'day. I love her and thank you for her. And for Pam too.

4/5 Task for week ahead

1. Write trading plan.
2. Set up trade journal.

4/5 Wave count

Only an exercise:
AAPL
27/4 Approaching Wave B (it's trying to go up, though)
4/5 Still going up, no signs of abatting.

AEM
27/4Seems to be after B going to C (trending down)
4/5 5 day MA turning. Wait for LSM and trade North.

ANF
27/4 Seems to be trading (non-trending) (34 EMA looks sideways on long term)
4/5 5 day MA turning south. See other indicators.

AXP
27/4 34EMA flat now. Could not wave count.
4/5 Uptrend but wait for other indicators.

BIDU
27/4 34EMA in uptrend. C - trending up. wait for u-turn signal.
4/5 Ell at all time high but Ell Osc turning.

CAT
27/4 Seems to be still in a new Wave 1 uptrend. However, recent actions has signs of red sea crossing - watch.
4/5 Red sea crossing was rather flat. Ell OSC turning down.

CF
27/4 red sea crossing over? Seems to be turning around from Wave 4 going to 5 - however, trend peaks failing retracement value . Play ZLR.
4/5 Noticed that 5 day MA turning very good for detecting turning points. an once 5 day cross 34, it will continue. Still waiting for ZLR. price resting around 34 EMA.

CLF
27/4 seems to be very toppish and end of a Wave 3. See how it goes.
4/5 3 days of successive selling. Ell now turning downtrend. Red sea crossing evident.

DRYS
27/4 seems to be wave 1 of new trend. However, top is not fuly reocevered. wait for Fish.
4/5 Ell flat so could not tell trend - need to watch. cci showed almost ZLR with turbo pointing upwards.

FCX
27/4 near Trend 3 and turning?
4/5 ELL turned, showing downtrend but a number of whipsaws present.
-be careful when trading this. but at extreme turning points, confidence of trade is good.

FDG
27/4 signs look pretty bearish but this stock has a tendency to reject 34EMA and coal is bullish at the moment. Looks like at Wave 3 peak.
4/5 ZLR ! Having seen that 27% of the world's coal is in US and oil price so high, then coal is still a strong growth stock.

ISRG
27/4 can't tell the wave count but could possible wait for a countertrend trade on cci or a u-turing on IFT.
4/5 Ell crossing to upside and small buying interest in last 4 trading days.

MA
4/5 Elliott going upside but most likely exhaustion gapping. Red candle appeared and possible of reversal becos of recent runup.

MER
27/4 uptrend - going towards establishing Wave 1
5/4 Uptrend still intact even though Red candle appeared on Friday.

MON
27/4 seems like at Wave 5 but don't be too happy 'cos grain in high demand currently.
4/5 Trade ZLR. Almost 3 doji's past 3 days. Wait for cci signals.

MOS
27/4 140 is the highest high ever achieved. Almost a Wave 5 count. But if it continues to build new highs, then it is just an extension of Wave 3.
4/5 ZLR but no green LSMA? Wait and see.

MTL
27/4 Either Wave 5 or extension of Wave 3.
5/4 This stock like to reject 34EMA. Friday's stock action rejected it.

POT
27/4 Could be at Wave 3. Anyway, this stock has very good potential.
4/5 Wave 3 gone. Most indicators are down.

RIMM
27/4 Almost in trading markets. could trend higher.
4/5 Friday gapped up. Ell is still sideways.

SHLD
27/4 almost at bottom of chart.
4/5 Looke like a ghost on cci. Ell is sturing up. With Americans receiving their check, it seems that they might go and buy and hence retail bullishness.

4/5 Trading Plan

Trading Plan:

1. Psychology: Don't exhaust yourself. Stay confident in what you believe.

2. Money Management

-5% rule for Options >$100, 2.5% rule for Options <$100.

-2 weeks into expiration, don't trade more than 2 contracts.

-No short sell until you full time trader.

3. Any New strategies, paper trade on at least 20 stocks for 1 month first. The stock market will always be there.

30/4 FOMC - 25bp cut

The Federal Open Market Committee decided today to lower its target for the federal funds rate 25 basis points to 2 percent. Recent information indicates that economic activity remains weak. Household and business spending has been subdued and labor markets have softened further. Financial markets remain under considerable stress, and tight credit conditions and the deepening housing contraction are likely to weigh on economic growth over the next few quarters. Although readings on core inflation have improved somewhat, energy and other commodity prices have increased, and some indicators of inflation expectations have risen in recent months. The Committee expects inflation to moderate in coming quarters, reflecting a projected leveling-out of energy and other commodity prices and an easing of pressures on resource utilization. Still, uncertainty about the inflation outlook remains high. It will be necessary to continue to monitor inflation developments carefully. The substantial easing of monetary policy to date, combined with ongoing measures to foster market liquidity, should help to promote moderate growth over time and to mitigate risks to economic activity. The Committee will continue to monitor economic and financial developments and will act as needed to promote sustainable economic growth and price stability. Voting for the FOMC monetary policy action were: Ben S. Bernanke, Chairman; Timothy F. Geithner, Vice Chairman; Donald L. Kohn; Randall S. Kroszner; Frederic S. Mishkin; Sandra Pianalto; Gary H. Stern; and Kevin M. Warsh. Voting against were Richard W. Fisher and Charles I. Plosser, who preferred no change in the target for the federal funds rate at this meeting. In a related action, the Board of Governors unanimously approved a 25-basis-point decrease in the discount rate to 2-1/4 percent.
